National Item Processing, Inc. (NIP) provides companies interested in clearing money orders, checks, gift certificates and drafts with the most cost effective, reliable system available.

Minnesota is ideally situated for clearing of these items for non-financial organizations that are interested in the maximization of balances and reasonable item processing charges.

The National Item Processing staff has a long history in executive positions with banking and marketing organizations:

Roger W. Raina has more than 35 years experience in banking, including operations management, correspondent banking, cash management and consulting. He provided item processing, bank operations and cash management consulting to correspondent banks when managing the correspondent cash management division for a large metropolitan bank. He established an independent cash management consulting business to provide item processing, bank operations and cash management consulting to both financial institutions and non-financial institution corporations.

John S. Cabot has had 50 years experience in the money order business. This experience included 39 years with Travelers Express, building the money order business, the credit union share draft business and other financial service products. John knows and has worked with money order companies and financial institutions throughout the country. His idea and initial involvement helped to build what is now the fifth largest check printer in the country.

NIP will consult and recommend a clearing system that fits the needs of the issuing company. The recommendation will include the best routing/transit, processor, and payor bank for settlement. The system will include the finest, state-of-the-art image system, enabling the issuing company to immediately view images of all cleared items in their own office via the internet or high-speed line. The contract and a pricing proposal will include all activities; clearing charges, cost of returns and retrievals, transmissions, wires, and any account costs. NIP will continue to support the issuers position for the term of the agreement, or longer, if changes are necessary. National Item Processing, Inc. has been providing these services since 1992.
